Favorite moments while listening to PRI’s “Smiley & West” earlier today:
1. The coincidence of Dan Aykroyd reminiscing about John Belushi and The Blues Brothers not two minutes after I’d looked in the mirror at my Ray-Ban shades, thinking about the drive to Chicago I intend to make some day from my friend Dan Pursley’s grave site in Colma, in a junker done up like the Bluesmobile and dressed as Elwood the entire way.
2. Paul Mooney making Tavis Smiley and Cornel West laugh so hard they couldn’t breathe while talking about Richard Pryor.
I haven’t heard the Garrett Morris interview yet. The whole show is available here.
